Each year, we hold a 72-hour app-building competition called Clash of the Coders, where we challenge our Nerds to explore new technology, push their skills to the limit and test just how much coffee they can possibly consume.
Clash 2014 kicks off at 6 p.m. on April 23 and will conclude at 6 p.m. on April 26, when each team will demo what they’ve built. Teams will have to work hard to prove themselves worthy of standing up to the likes of past winners: Team Franklin’s Roger app, an Android layout file viewer that takes advantage of autodiscovery networking, and Raisin’ Elevens’ Krëndler, a web-based remote debugger.
The prizes? Members of the winning team earn fame, bragging rights and their choice of Nerdy technology. Past winners have chosen a new Thunderbolt display, a piano or even The Modernist Cuisine cookbooks.
Ready to see what our Nerds come up with this year? We’ll announce the winners April 28, but until then, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ for updates and photos.
